What treatments are available, and how will they impact the length and quality of Robert's life? Most importantly, I asked them to explain things in a way I could understand, like they would for a friend or family member.

I've learned that the key is open communication. If you're caring for someone you love, have honest conversations. Explore each other's fears and hopes for what lies ahead. Don't be afraid to ask questions and seek clarification from medical professionals.
